Musical Theater

Hamilton, here we come!

Do you have kiddos that love to sing, dance and act? Do they think about being on Broadway?! Then our Musical Theater class is the antidote! We will dig into the fun and timeless art of Musical Theater! Kids will learn the specific skills of performing on-stage, including; choosing a role, auditioning, acting while singing, vocal health, and more. We’ll work with each student to record a performance! Through various learning techniques and singing songs from Broadway shows and famous movie musicals, kids become more confident as a performer and as a person.
*Kids will receive their professionally edited musical performance video a few weeks after the final session (assuming each student shares their footage in a timely manner).

Improv 101: Kids Edition

Improvisation is a useful tool for anyone...

to have on their utility belt.  The skills gained through improvisation, readily translate into any and every area of life.  In this class, students will learn basic improv techniques designed to improve focus, creativity, and overall confidence.  Through exercises that emphasize active listening, collaboration, generosity, experimentation and trust, actors are encouraged to think outside the box and fully explore their inner creative in a safe and judgment free environment.  

Requirements:  An open mind and willingness to learn.  All levels welcome.

Stand Up Comedy Kids

Laughter is the best medicine!

This class is ideal for beginners as well as more advanced students.   The goal is to enhance writing and performance skills while developing a tight 5 minute set.   Each student will have the opportunity to receive constructive feedback from the instructor and their classmates, in a safe environment that is judgment free.  

Students will learn: 

  • Joke structure and construction
  • How to turn your funny ideas and stories into tightly written comedy material
  • To discover their unique comedy voice and stage persona
  • Comedic timing

When possible, students will be asked to submit written material to the instructor prior to class for individual feedback and editing.  Class will culminate with live Zoom performance that friends and family may be invited to.

Requirements: Open mind and persistence.  All levels welcome.

The roadmap to success as a Kid Actor involves getting representation!

If your kiddo has been taking acting classes for a while and is ready to make a bigger commitment --- it might be time to consider getting an agent and/or manager!Our Co-Founder, Audrey Walters leads this course with the help of her L.A. Manager, Peter Scott of Torque Entertainment. This experience is designed to be real-world educational, aiming to increase your families’ comfort level when seeking representation.  There is no guarantee that any actor in the class will be signed for representation, but Torque Entertainment will earnestly consider each person.The marketing side of acting requires some parent participation, to ensure your kiddo’s success. Each class includes useful preparation for Kid Actors in the Zoom Room, while parents are invited to a breakroom for a Q & A. Class Min - 8
Class #1- Slates, Resumes, Headshots, Casting sites, relationships, Parent Q & A - TuesdayClass #2- Audition technique, Cold reads, Scene Prep, Mindset, Parent Q & A TuesdayClass #3- Students will meet and audition for Peter Scott via Zoom 15-minute increments. From both personal experience and her vast roster of working students, Rebekah Wiggins is savvy in the Self Tape elements that will give your kid actor the advantage to BOOK THE ROOM! Rebekah is an Award Winning Actor, Filmmaker, Chubbuck Acting Technique Instructor and an Associate at Midthunder Casting. Her depth and breadth of experience provides a 360 view of what WORKS in the Self Tape. Here is what this course will do for your Kid Actor....

  • Learn the art of in depth SCRIPT ANALYSIS and build the bones of THEIR PROCESS to become a busy working actor. Great self tapes start with GREAT acting work! 
  • Rebekah will mentor them on how to create STRONG Self Tapes that will help them stand-out to Casting Directors, Directors and Producers by zoning in on technical elements (Lighting, sound, framing etc). 
  • Weekly self tape and review in class for every student! Practice like you play! This intensive will lock a spirit of self tape excellence into your Kid Actor's still developing bones, setting them up for HUGE future successes and OPEN DOORS in the industry!

Pen to Play

Scriptwriting for all levels

In this class, students will create, write, and perform a short play.  Utilizing techniques employed by classroom educators, students will learn story structure as they conceptualize and craft their scripts.  Constructive feedback is provided in a safe and supportive environment and students will be encouraged to learn the constructive feedback style to empower themselves and fellow actors.   Once scripts are finalized, students will then learn about casting for their play, as well as some basic directing techniques to bring their script to life.  There will be rehearsals, and when appropriate, discussions regarding costumes and sets.   In addition to the work done in class, there will also be weekly assignments related to the task at hand.

Pre-requisite:  Must be able to read and write independently.

This advanced class includes "Booking the Room", agent relationships, booking acting jobs, marketing yourself, dealing with rejection/emotions, on set etiquette, professionalism.

Auditioning for Theater Intensive

A fundamental step in theater is the audition process!

Your child will learn the “Do’s and Don’ts” of a live audition, selecting the right monologues for their age range, how to dress for audition success, and how to correctly format a resume. They'll go through extensive coaching and receive a filmed audition tape.
